My Portfolio
Hello, my name is Kirsty. I am a multimedia artist based in Glasgow with a background in theatre and visual arts. My work explores the dynamic interplay between digital technologies and human interaction. Utilizing a diverse range of mediums including photography, video, performance and installation, i seek to delve into the complexities of identity, the impact of digital technologies, and the evolving nature of social interaction. My artistic journey driven by a passion for discovering how these elements influence and reshape our perceptions and relationships in an increasingly digital world.
Video Art and Animation
My fascination with animation is rooted in its limitless potential for creativity and expression. In stop frame animation, for instance, I find joy in the meticulous process of bringing inanimate objects to life, frame by frame. This method allows for a tactile and intimate connection with the materials, creating a unique visual texture that resonates with viewers. Similarly, traditional hand-drawn animation offers a personal touch, where each frame bears the artists individual mark, infusing the work with a sense of authenticity and craftsmanship. In contrast, digitally rendered 2D and 3D animations provide a platform for exploring futuristic and abstract themes, enabling the creation of worlds and characters that push the boundaries of imagination. Real-time generative visuals, on the other hand, introduce an element of spontaneity and interaction, allowing the artwork to evolve dynamically in response to audience engagement.
